I love making crafts because I grew up in a poor family with few toys. My parents worked far away, so I spent most of my childhood drawing alone to pass the time. Art class at school opened my eyes to beautiful artworks, and I would stay in the art studio until dark every day after school. That was when I dreamed of becoming an artist.

In college, I was admitted to an art university with my aunt’s help to cover the tuition. I learned many nearly lost traditional Chinese crafts from my teacher. To protect these skills, I traveled to many countries and regions to study their origins.

Today, I combine these ancient techniques with modern, trendy designs. It is my way of passing on traditional heritage while fulfilling my dream of being an artist. The time I spend creating handmade pieces is the happiest of my life.
